My new album "Well" is finished and will be available in digital and CD formats on January 22. My Bandcamp page is the place to go to download or purchase a physical copy. You can pre-order it now and receive an immediate download of 3 songs - on release day, you'll receive a link via e-mail to download the additional 9 tracks.
The album was written in 2011 and 2012 and recorded at my house from August-October 2012. I wanted to create an intimate sound, as many of these songs are more personal than past works. "Well," "Used-To-Be Home" and "You've Got Time" are about growing up, leaving home and coming back. "Candle," "Watching Clocks" and "In The Pocket" serve as gentle reminders to live in the moment and let go of pesky anxiety.
I received a beautiful ukulele for my birthday 2011 and the process of learning an instrument sparked a flurry of songwriting. About half of the songs on "Well" feature the uke. Acoustic guitar, tambourine and glockenspiel round out the sound.
To celebrate the release of this new work, I am playing an album release show in Somerville MA on 1/25/2013 at PA's Lounge. I am thrilled to be sharing this event with my best friend, Sam Mulligan; his new EP, "Big Hand Band Van Man," is also going to be released on January 22. His EP will be available for sale at his Bandcamp page. For all the details on the gig, visit our Facebook event page. We'd love to see you there!
